Jacquelyn Woode is a photographer, dancer
and scuba diver living in Markham, Ontario, Canada.

I have had many titles in my lifetime (Scientist, Accountant, Controller, Dancer, Life Coach, Scuba Diver) but none brings me the same kind of joy that Photographer does. When I started taking photos, I loved capturing the beauty I saw in the world. In the minute details, up to the grand landscapes. I was and am completely fascinated by the interplay of light and shadow and the way that nature seems to paint with sunlight. I take my camera almost everywhere I go and usually regret it when I forget.

Then, I started taking photos of people. I believe that every person - regardless of age, height, weight, skin colour, race, gender identity or sexual orientation - is Beautiful and Worthy of being photographed. I believe a great piece of art is a photo of someone that tells the story of who they are and what they bring to the world. We should be putting pictures on our walls that show Us, as we are, not some version of ourselves that attempts to fit the never ending demands of the beauty and diet industries.

So let’s tell Your incredible and unique story, let Your beauty shine through, and capture how amazing I know You are.
